About the Amethyst
This is a single slab of amethyst quartz, thick and substantial, about 4" across and left in the outline the stone came in. The purple is strongest along the crystal edge and pales inward, where the quartz turns gray-white.
Amethyst grows in points, and a slab cut through that growth shows the terminations as small angular facets. They take light separately, so the surface glitters at some angles and settles at others.
How It’s Made
The slab is cut, not shaped: its perimeter is the stone's own irregular line, and the metal follows every bend in it. That edge is electroformed, real metal grown onto the stone until it has thickness of its own and permanently bonded to it, never a leaf or coating that can rub off. Gold is the warm contrast to a cool purple, silver the closest match, rose gold the one that picks up the pinker crystal.

Each piece is unique, with slight variation in shape and color, so the outline and the spread of purple are that clock's own.

It stands on an electroformed brass base, provided at no extra cost, so it can sit on a desk, a shelf or a mantel. A sturdy hook is fitted at the back for a wall.

Care
Wipe the stone and the electroformed edge with a soft dry cloth. Keep water, solvents and abrasive cleaners away from both.
