The Sign

An arched plate with a thin raised line round the whole edge, and two laurel branches curving along the foot to meet at a small rosette. Three lines: the number large across the middle, the street below it, and a short line at the bottom.

Craftsmanship

Electroformed metal over a sculpted form, finished in antique brass. The lettering and the design stand off a dark textured ground at more than one height, so the piece reads as modeled rather than stamped. The metal is bonded to the surface rather than painted or plated, so there is nothing on it to chip, flake or peel.

Sealed under a UV-protective finish and weather-treated, so it holds its color outside, on a gatepost, a pillar or the wall by the door.

Personalization

The number, the street and the line at the foot are yours, as 48, WINSLOW STREET and CIRCA 1826 are in the pictures. Only the number is required. A design preview comes back by email, and once you approve it the sign leaves the workshop in five to seven business days.

Mounting

Three ways, chosen at checkout.

  • Keyhole slots: two screws in the wall, and it lifts off whenever you want to move it.
  • Peel-and-stick tape: sealed strips already on the back. Needs a smooth, clean, dry surface.
  • Floating stud mount: threaded studs stand it clear of the wall, so a shadow falls underneath.
