About the Agate
Indigo agate sits at the dark end of the blue range, closer to ink than to sky, with violet where the bands thicken. Chalky white and pale blue lines run between the dark layers and trace the shape the nodule grew into.
The dark bands are dense and hold their color even in strong light. The pale ones do the opposite and turn translucent at the rim of the slab, so the outline glows while the middle of the face stays deep.
How It’s Made
One irregular slab, thick and substantial, about 6" x 7", with the movement fitted behind it so the stone is the dial. Metal is electroformed around the edge, grown onto the stone until it has real thickness and bonded permanently, rather than a leaf or coating that can wear away. Gold is the strongest contrast against this depth of blue, silver keeps the piece cool, and rose gold softens it.

Care
Dust the agate and the electroformed edge with a soft dry cloth, and keep solvents and polishes off both. Remove the battery if the clock is put away.
