About the Crystal Agate
Two stones share this face. Clear crystal quartz is the glassy one, colorless and see-through, with internal fractures that throw small flashes of light when the angle changes. Agate is the banded one, opaque to milky, laid down in rings of white, cream and soft gray.
Set next to each other the difference is the point: the crystal reads bright and hard, the agate reads soft and matte, and the two trade places as daylight moves across the wall. The pale palette keeps the whole face restrained at a distance and detailed up close.
How It's Made
Clear crystal and agate are set piece by piece into a 10" round circle, so the stones make up the entire face of a clock 10" in diameter. The edge is electroformed, meaning real metal is grown onto the stone and permanently bonded to it rather than applied as a coating that can rub off. Against a colorless stone the finish does the work: silver keeps it icy, gold warms it, rose gold gives it a blush, and the hands follow.
