About the Agate
Light green agate is a pale, slightly gray green, nearer to sea glass than to grass. Its bands are fine and close together, running in soft concentric lines with white or clear seams dividing them.
At this lightness the stone is translucent through much of its thickness, so daylight travels into it and comes back diffused. The face brightens as the sun moves and dims in the evening, and the fine banding only resolves properly from close up.
How It’s Made
The agate is set piece by piece into a round face, offered in three sizes so it can suit a narrow wall or a wide one: 12", 14" and 16" diameter. The edge is electroformed, meaning real metal is grown onto the stone and permanently bonded to it rather than a leaf or coating that can rub off. Silver keeps the cool gray in this green, gold warms it toward olive, and rose gold sits between the two with the hands to match.
