About the Agate
Ocean blue agate reads deep at the center and lightens toward the rim, the blue laid down in concentric bands that repeat the outline of the stone. Narrow gray-white lines sit between the darker bands, and where the agate opens there are pockets of small quartz crystals.
Light is what makes this one worth hanging. Against daylight the pale bands turn translucent and the blue glows through them; away from a window the face settles into a flat cool blue, with the crystal pockets catching the highlights.
How It’s Made
One large irregular slab, thick through the body, with the broken natural edge of the agate left as the outline of the clock. Metal is electroformed along that edge, grown onto the stone and permanently bonded so the border has genuine thickness rather than a leaf or coating that lifts with handling. Silver keeps a cool blue crisp, gold sets up a warmer contrast, and rose gold softens the rim. The hands follow the edging chosen.
