We make exactly what you type. Your wording is reproduced exactly as you enter it here, spelling, capitals and punctuation included. If you type in lower case, we set it in lower case. The wording in the photographs is only an example. A design preview is emailed for your approval before anything is made.

The Sign

A shaped plate with a clipped border, a palmette crest standing at the crown and an acanthus drop turning under the foot. One line: the number, cut large across the whole field on a coarse textured ground.

Craftsmanship

Electroformed metal over a sculpted form, finished in antique brass. The lettering and the design stand off a dark textured ground at more than one height, so the piece reads as modeled rather than stamped. The metal is bonded to the surface rather than painted or plated, so there is nothing on it to chip, flake or peel.

Sealed under a UV-protective finish and weather-treated, so it holds its color outside, on a gatepost, a pillar or the wall by the door.

Personalization

The number is yours, as 221B is in the pictures. Letters and suffixes are fine. It is the only line on the plate. A design preview comes back by email, and once you approve it the sign leaves the workshop in five to seven business days.

Mounting

Three ways, chosen at checkout.

  • Keyhole slots: two screws in the wall, and it lifts off whenever you want to move it.
  • Peel-and-stick tape: sealed strips already on the back. Needs a smooth, clean, dry surface.
  • Floating stud mount: threaded studs stand it clear of the wall, so a shadow falls underneath.

Hardware and instructions are included.
