The Sign

A clean arch with a small keystone at the crown and a laurel spray running up each side of the field. The number sits large and centered under the arch, the street name on a band across the foot. No other ornament.

Restrained on purpose. This is the one to choose if the house is already doing enough.

Craftsmanship

Copper and brass grown over the sculpted form rather than poured into a mold, so each laurel leaf keeps a separate edge instead of merging into the branch beside it. Leaves, keystone and lettering are cut at their own heights, between 2 and 5 mm off the ground. The plaque is 8 to 10 mm thick and solid the whole way through, which is what gives it the weight of something built into the house rather than hung on it.

Readable from the road

The number is the largest element by a wide margin, and it stands in raised brass on a ground that has been left dark. That contrast is what makes it legible from the street, in flat light, at speed. A flat sign of the same size does not read at the same distance.

Built for outside

UV-protected and weather-treated after finishing. Sun will not fade it, rain will not mark it, and there is no steel in it to rust and run down the stucco.

Personalization

The number and the street name, set exactly as you send them. Long names are welcome; the lettering is sized to suit the name rather than the name trimmed to suit the band. A design preview comes back by email before anything is made.

Because the design is simple, it holds up better than most at the small end: a two-digit number and a short street are perfectly clean at 6 x 4.

Mounting

Three ways, chosen at checkout.

• Keyhole slots: two screws, and the arch is easy to sight level against a door frame.
• Peel-and-stick tape: sealed strips already applied to the back. No drilling into render or tile.
• Floating stud mount: reinforced studs that stand it clear of the wall and put a shadow under the arch.

Hardware and instructions are included with all three.

Where it works

Stucco, limewash, brick, a plain painted porch wall. It suits Mediterranean and Spanish-style exteriors particularly, where an arch is already part of the building's language.

Soft dry cloth. Keep brass polish and abrasives off it.
