About the Rose Quartz
Rose quartz is a milky stone rather than a clear one. The pink is diffused right through the body, pale at the surface and deeper where the slab has thickness, and it is broken up by cloudy white drifts that have no hard edge to them.
Look into it and there are fine internal fractures that flash when the clock is turned, and threads of white quartz crossing the pink. Held to daylight the whole face lights softly from within, because the stone passes light instead of stopping it.
How It’s Made
This slab is cut round, a clean circle of rose quartz agate with the thickness of the stone left intact. Metal is electroformed around the circle, grown onto the stone and permanently bonded to it, so the rim is real metal with weight of its own and not a leaf or coating that rubs off. Rose gold is the closest tone to the stone, gold gives the pink more heat, and silver keeps it cool and clean. The hour and minute hands match the edging chosen.
