About the Agate
Sage green agate is a muted stone, closer to dried herbs than to emerald. The green comes in soft concentric bands, gray-green against cream, and the lines follow each other around the slab in the order the agate grew, sometimes tightly and sometimes with a wide pale gap between them.
Toward the middle the banding often opens into a pocket of clear quartz crystal, the one bright point on a matte face. The thinner outer stone passes daylight and pales when the sun reaches it.
How It’s Made
The slab is cut to a circle, so the concentric banding of the agate and the shape of the clock run the same way. Metal is electroformed around the rim, grown onto the stone and permanently bonded until it has real thickness, unlike a leaf or coating that can rub off. Gold is the usual pairing with sage green and makes the stone look warmer than it is, silver keeps it cool and botanical, and rose gold sits between the two. The hands match the edging chosen.
