About the Agate
Smoky gray agate bands in ash, graphite and a translucent pale gray, with the darkest layers reading almost brown where they thicken. The smoke in the name is the effect of the banding softening into one another instead of holding a hard line.
Agate forms in the cavity of a host rock, layer upon layer, so a round top cut from a slab shows those layers as rings. Against light the gray warms; away from it the stone looks solid and cool.
How It’s Made
The slab is worked to a round top with the natural edge of the stone left alone, so the circle is approximate and the profile changes as it goes around. Electroformed metal is grown onto the raw edge in a bath until it is metal in its own right, thick and bonded to the agate, not a coating brushed over it. The legs are electroformed to match. Silver reads coldest against smoky gray, gold lifts the brown in the darker bands, rose gold sits between them.

Slight variation in natural stone will occur, and the balance of dark to pale bands differs from one top to the next.
Assembly
The legs are removable and the table is easily assembled on delivery. The top ships flat with the legs packed apart from it, and the legs fix to the underside of the slab.

Care
Dust with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Soak up liquid straight away with a paper towel and wipe dry to avoid staining, and keep chemical cleaners off the stone.
