About the Clear Quartz
Left in the shape it grew, clear quartz is a column with flat sides and a pointed end, colorless and glassy. The sides are naturally smooth, the kind of finish no polishing produced, and the seams where the crystal met its neighbors in the ground show as fine horizontal striations across the faces.
Because there is no color to look at, the stone works on light alone. Held up, it passes daylight almost unchanged and throws a bright edge wherever two faces meet. Inside, veils and small fractures read as white feathering, and a piece with none of that looks nearly like water.
How It's Made
Only the rim is worked. The face of the crystal is left open so the light can reach it, and the edge is electroformed, real metal grown onto the stone and permanently bonded rather than a leaf or coating that can rub off, in a band of thick metallic gold. A brass bolt threads into the back of the fitting. Silver and rose gold finishes can also be made to order.

No two are exactly alike in outline, in the set of the crystal faces or in how much veiling the stone carries.
Fit and Installation
Suits wardrobe doors, dresser drawers and kitchen cabinet fronts, mounting through one drilled hole. No additional hardware is required. Tighten with care, by hand, rather than over-torquing the bolt against the back of the stone.
Care
A soft dry cloth keeps the quartz clear. Household cleaners will haze the stone and dull the metal rim.
