About the Quartz
Conglomerate quartz is a rock built out of older rock. Rounded fragments of cream, rust, smoky brown and pale gray sit packed against one another, with a quartz matrix filling every gap between them.
That matrix is the part that carries light: near a window it goes faintly translucent where the slab runs thin, while the darker fragments stay flat and opaque.
How It’s Made
The slab keeps the irregular outline it came out of the block with, thick and substantial, and the movement sits behind it so the stone itself is the dial. The edge is electroformed: real metal is grown onto the stone until it has genuine thickness and stays permanently bonded, never a leaf or a coating that can rub off. Gold and rose gold pick up the rust and cream in this stone; silver reads cleaner against the grays.

Each slab is cut from natural stone, so shape and color vary slightly from one clock to the next.
Mounting
The hook fitted at the back takes a single wall nail or screw. The electroformed brass base comes with the clock at no extra cost and stands it upright on a desk, a shelf or a mantel.

Care
Dust the stone and the metal edge with a soft dry cloth, keeping cleaners and polishes off the electroformed finish. Take the battery out if the clock will sit unused.
