About the Agate
Light green agate is the pale end of the green family: celadon and sea glass rather than bottle green, with white and faint gray banding drawn through it. Because the tone is light, the rings read clearly instead of sinking into the body of the stone.
Pale agate is the most generous with light. Set it near a window and the thin bands go almost clear, the green lifting to something closer to mint; under a lamp in the evening it settles back to a soft, cool gray-green.
How It’s Made
A square plate, made in three sizes, with a handle on each side. The stone edges are electroformed, which means real metal is grown onto the agate and permanently bonded rather than laid on as a coating that can rub off, and the handles themselves are solid brass. Four handle shapes are offered, classic scroll, open leaf, laurel arch and leaf scroll, and the electroformed finish on handles and tray can be gold, silver or rose gold.

Each square is cut from natural stone, so the banding, the green and the amount of white differ from tray to tray.

Use and Care
