The Sign
An ogee arch, the double curve rising to a point, topped by a crest of acanthus scrollwork that turns back on itself on both sides. The number fills the field and the street name runs beneath it. Small volutes finish the lower corners.
The most ornamental sign in the range, and the one that looks oldest.
Craftsmanship
Real copper and brass grown over the sculpted form rather than poured into a mold. Acanthus depends entirely on the leaf curling back over itself, which means an undercut, and undercuts are exactly what casting cannot hold. Grown over a sculpted form the scroll keeps its return and its shadow. Scrollwork, volutes and lettering are cut at their own heights, 2 to 5 mm off the ground. The plaque is 8 to 10 mm thick and solid all the way through.
Readable from the road
Ornament at the top, plain field in the middle. That separation is deliberate: the number stands in raised brass on a ground left dark, and nothing is allowed near it. Contrast is what makes it read from the street, and the crest gives the eye somewhere to land first.
Built for outside
UV-protected and weather-treated once the patina is applied. Rain, frost and full sun will not fade or lift the finish, and there is no steel in it to rust and stain the stone below.
Personalization
The number and the street name, or a house name if you would rather. Send the wording exactly as it should appear. The lettering is sized to suit the wording rather than the wording cut to suit the plate. A design preview comes back by email before anything is made.

The scrollwork earns its keep at 8 x 6 and above, where the returns in the leaves are fully visible. At 6 x 4 and 7 x 5 the crest is simplified and you may prefer one of the plainer designs.
Mounting
Three ways, chosen at checkout.
- Keyhole slots: two screws in the wall, and it lifts off cleanly.
- Peel-and-stick tape: sealed strips already applied. No drilling. Smooth, clean, dry surfaces only.
- Floating stud mount: reinforced studs that hold it clear of the wall so the crest casts a shadow of its own, which is what this design is asking for.
Hardware and instructions are included with all three.
Where it works
A stone porch, a carved door surround, a brick pier, a period entrance hall. It suits a house with moldings already on it.
Care
Dust it with something soft and dry, working with the direction of the scroll rather than across it. No polish, nothing abrasive.
