The Sign
Cut to the outline of a barn gable, with a pitched roofline across the top and the rafter framing sculpted into the peak. A sheaf of wheat stands at each side. The number fills the wide part of the field and the street name runs along the base.
It is the shape of the building it belongs on, which is rarer in a house sign than you would think.
Craftsmanship
Real copper and brass grown over the sculpted form, not cast. Wheat is a test of that: every ear has to stay separate from the one behind it or the sheaf turns into a lump. Grown over the form, the heads and the stalks each hold their own edge. Wheat, rafters and lettering are cut at their own heights, 2 to 5 mm off the ground. The plaque is 8 to 10 mm thick and solid the whole way through.
Readable from the road
A farm number often has to be read from a moving vehicle at the end of a long approach. Raised brass on a ground left dark reads as contrast, which carries much further than a flat painted number, and it holds up in overcast light and at dusk.
Built for outside
UV-protected and weather-treated after finishing. Sun, snow, driving rain and dust will not fade or lift the finish, and nothing in it can rust and streak down a barn board.
Personalization
The number and the street or road name, set exactly as you send them. Rural addresses with long road names are common and welcome; the lettering is sized to suit the name rather than the name abbreviated to fit. A design preview comes back by email before anything is produced.

Individual ears of wheat separate from 8 x 6 upward. At smaller sizes the sheaves are simplified so they stay crisp instead of clotting together.
Mounting
Three ways, chosen at checkout.
- Keyhole slots: two screws, and the flat base makes it easy to level against a board.
- Peel-and-stick tape: sealed strips already on the back. No drilling into siding.
- Floating stud mount: reinforced studs that stand it clear of the wall so the gable throws a shadow.
Hardware and instructions are included with all three.
Where it works
A farmhouse porch, a barn, a workshop, a post at the head of a track. Weathered timber suits it best, where the brass is the only bright thing in the frame.
