The Sign
An arched plaque with a horse's head sculpted inside a horseshoe at the crown, mane laid back along the neck. The number runs large across the field and the street name sits on a band at the foot.
The horseshoe is set open end up, which is how anyone who keeps horses will expect to see it.
Craftsmanship
The head is grown in real copper and brass over a sculpted form rather than poured into a mold, so the mane keeps separate strands and the jaw keeps its line instead of rounding off. Head, horseshoe and lettering are cut at their own heights, between 2 and 5 mm off the ground, so the animal is modeled rather than flat. The plaque is 8 to 10 mm thick and solid all the way through.
Readable from the road
Contrast is what carries a number down a long drive, not size. Raised brass takes the light while the ground behind stays dark, so the numerals separate at distance, in flat light and in headlights. A painted or vinyl number of the same height does not.
Built for outside
Sealed under a UV-protective finish once the patina is applied. Sun, rain, frost and dust will not fade it or lift it, and there is no steel in the body to rust and streak a stone pillar.
Personalization
Two lines: the house number and the street. Send them exactly as you want them set. Barn names and long road names are welcome; the lettering is sized to suit the name rather than the name shortened to suit the plaque. A design preview comes back by email before anything is made.

The mane holds its separate strands from 8 x 6 upward. Below that it is simplified into fewer, stronger locks so the head still reads cleanly.
Mounting
Three ways, chosen at checkout.
- Keyhole slots: two screws in the wall, and it lifts off in a moment.
- Peel-and-stick tape: sealed strips already applied to the back. No drilling. Smooth, clean, dry surfaces only.
- Floating stud mount: reinforced studs that hold it clear of the wall, which is the right answer on a stone gate pier.
Hardware and instructions are included with all three.
Where it works
A gate pillar, a barn wall, a tack room door, the front of a stable block. It suits fieldstone and painted board equally.
Care
Soft dry cloth, or clean water and a dry-off if it gets splashed. No polish and nothing abrasive.
