The Sign
An arched plaque held between two riveted columns, each rivet raised individually down the length of the upright. A pair of interlocking gears sits at the foot. The initial is set in a circle at the head of the arch, the family name below it, then the bar line, then the year.
This is the taller of the two industrial signs and the columns are what make it different. They frame the lettering the way a bracket frames a sign hung over a workshop door.
Craftsmanship
The rivets are individual raised domes, not a repeating pattern pressed into a strip, so the light picks them out one at a time down the column. Columns, gears, monogram and lettering are grown at four separate heights over the sculpted core, everything within 2 to 5 mm of the ground. The plaque is 8 to 10 mm thick and solid through.
Built to last
Sealed under a UV-protective finish. Nothing corrodes, nothing chalks, and the black recesses between the rivets stay black instead of filling with a dull film.
Personalization
Four fields: the family name, the bar line, the year, and one initial for the circle between the columns. The arch is generous, so a long surname sits comfortably here in a way it does not on the round industrial sign. The renders show WHISKY; WHISKEY is set if you type it. You see an emailed design preview before we start.

Mounting
Three ways, chosen at checkout.
- Keyhole slots: two screws in the wall, simple to level.
- Peel-and-stick tape: sealed strips already fitted. No drilling, which matters on a tiled or paneled bar wall.
- Floating stud mount: reinforced studs that stand it off the wall so it throws its own shadow.
Hardware and instructions come with all three.
Where it works
Above a bar built from scaffold board, in a workshop that has become a drinking room, on brick or bare block. It suits a wall with pipework already on it.
Gifting
For someone who built their own bar out of steel and reclaimed timber and would rather have something that matches the build than something pretty.

A dry cloth now and then. No polish, nothing abrasive, and nothing wet left on the dark ground.
