The Sign
An arched plaque with a single five-point star sculpted above the field, points cut clean and the faces of the star angled so each one catches light differently. The family name sits below it, then the bar line, then the year.
There is no monogram on this design. The star holds the top of the sign on its own and adding a letter under it would only make the head look busy.
Craftsmanship
The star is grown over a faceted form rather than cut flat, which is why the points do not all read the same brightness at once. That single detail is what separates a sculpted star from a stencil. Star and lettering stand 2 to 5 mm off the blackened ground, at more than one height across the design. The plaque is 8 to 10 mm thick and solid through.
Built to last
Sealed under a UV-protective finish that holds the color in sun and stops the brass hazing over. Nothing in it can rust, so a porch bar or a covered deck is no problem.
Personalization
Three lines: the family name, the bar line, and the year. SALOON works as well as WHISKEY BAR on this one, and plenty of people use it. The renders show WHISKY, the Scottish spelling; type it however you say it and that is what we set. A design preview is emailed for approval first.

Mounting
Three options, chosen when you order.
- Keyhole slots: the straightforward way, two screws.
- Peel-and-stick tape: sealed adhesive strips fitted before dispatch. Good on paint, tile and finished timber.
- Floating stud mount: gusseted studs that lift it off the wall and put a shadow line under it.
Fixings and instructions are included whichever you take.
Where it works
Ranch houses, log walls, garage bars, anywhere with leather and dark timber in it. Against pale plaster the arch and the star read as a hard silhouette, which is a different and equally good look.
Gifting
A straightforward gift for someone with a Western streak, and one of the few designs here that works without an initial, so you do not need to know the surname spelling to order it.
Care
A dry cloth now and then. No polish, nothing abrasive, and nothing wet left on the dark ground.
