Three cheese knives with labradorite handles: a wide flat blade, a spreader and a two-prong fork. Stainless steel tools, stone handles.
Labradorite is a dark gray-green stone that can throw a blue flash when it is turned under a light. Not every handle flashes, and where it does the blue moves as you move the piece. The slabs are irregular with a broken edge. Each handle is held in a metal band whose inner edge is cut in a row of scallops where it grips the stone, and that band is the same on every piece.
Size and Materials
- Three pieces: a wide flat blade, a spreader and a two-prong fork
- Handles: labradorite, dark gray-green, sometimes with a blue flash
- Handle shape: irregular slabs, broken edge
- Tools: stainless steel
- Metal band around each handle, scalloped along its inner edge
- Finish: Gold, Silver or Rose Gold
Every piece uses natural stone, so slight variation in color, marking, shape and size will occur.
Using It
Put them out beside a cheese board: the wide flat blade cuts and lifts, the rounded one spreads, and the fork picks up the hard pieces. The steel is made for food; the handle is not, so keep it out of a long soak and do not leave food resting against it. Wash by hand and dry straight after. Never the dishwasher.
