About the Agate
Green agate here is a composite: separate pieces of similar tone are fitted edge to edge until the whole panel reads as one stone. The greens run from moss through jade to a dark forest, with the white and translucent bands that agate always carries threading between them.
The joins are part of the look. Each piece meets its neighbor along its own broken outline, so the pattern is angular rather than flowing, and light entering a pale band in one piece often stops dead at the next.
How It's Made
The fitted pieces are held under clear epoxy resin poured across them, which sets the 10" x 15" face firm and level. Electroformed metal runs around the outside, grown onto the stone until it has thickness and bonded permanently rather than coated on, so the border cannot lift. Gold and rose gold warm the moss tones; silver stays with the cooler jade end of the stone.

Hand hewn agate means the pieces break differently every time, so no two panels are laid out alike.
A Gift For
Green is the color people ask for when a room needs something living without a plant to water, so this goes out often as a housewarming gift. It suits an anniversary or a Christmas gift for a first home, and it holds up as a retirement present.
Care
Use a soft dry cloth on the resin face and the metal edge. Solvents, polishes and abrasives mark both, so keep them well away.
